The XRU13Z is a welcome solution for professionals as it provides zero emissions, lower noise, and considerably less maintenance compared to traditional gas models. This trimmer features an efficient Makita BL™ brushless motor, delivering up to 6,000 RPM for faster cutting, longer runtime, and extended tool life. Its performance is optimized through Automatic Torque Drive Technology, which automatically shifts the speed and torque between 4,000 and 6,000 RPM based on application density, and also offers three fixed speed options (4,000/5,000/6,000 RPM) in manual mode. Using an 18V LXT 5.0Ah battery (sold separately), users can achieve up to 38 minutes of runtime on high and 103 minutes on low settings under load. Practical design features include an 11-3/4” cutting swath, an easy-loading bump-and-feed head, and reverse rotation for quickly clearing entangled grass and weeds. Furthermore, the XRU13Z is built for durability with Extreme Protection Technology (XPT™), which channels water and dust away from key internal components, and its telescoping curved shaft adjusts from 59-1/2” to 63-1/2” in length for convenient operation. The tool also utilizes Star Protection Computer Controls™ for real-time communication between the tool and the fast-charging 18V LXT battery, providing protection against overloading, over-discharging, and overheating to ensure maximum tool performance and extended battery life.
