This chain saw is a welcome, high-efficiency solution for cutting and trimming, offering the power of a gas saw with zero emissions, lower noise (only 100dB(A)), and considerably less maintenance (no oil changes, spark plugs, filters, or fuel draining). It operates on two 18V LXT® batteries for 36V power and run time, ensuring users stay within the preferred 18V battery platform. The efficient Makita outer rotor brushless motor with direct drive system delivers high power, while a variable speed motor with a 14” guide bar achieves 0-3,940 FPM for increased cutting speed. Convenience and productivity features include tool-less chain adjustments, a front hand guard that actuates the chain brake, and an electric brake. As part of Makita’s extensive 18V LXT® system, the tool and its fast-charging batteries are protected by Star Protection Computer Controls™, which monitors and guards against overloading, over-discharging, and overheating.
