Makita delivers grinding performance with the 40V max XGT® Brushless Cordless 4-1/2” / 6" Paddle Switch Angle Grinder, with Electric Brake (GAG14). The Makita-built brushless motor along with the 40V max XGT® battery combine to deliver performance that is comparable to a 15 AMP grinder. The GAG14 is powered by a Makita-built brushless motor for longer run time, increased power and speed, and longer tool life. The Brushless Motor eliminates carbon brushes, enabling the motor to run cooler and more efficiently for longer life. Active Feedback-sensing Technology (AFT®) turns the motor off if the rotation speed suddenly slows or the wheel is forced to a stop. The large paddle switch allows for power start press points at multiple grip positions. The Angle Grinder features an electronic current limiter that helps protect the motor from overload in high torque applications, it also features quick guard rotation that allows easy tool-less adjustment for increased productivity, spiral bevel gears for smoother rotations, and a more efficient transfer of energy, as well as soft start which suppresses the grinder’s start-up reaction for smooth start-ups and longer gear life. It features anti-restart protection engineered to prevent motor start-up when the battery is inserted with a switch locked on. Convenience features include a rubberized soft grip which provides increased comfort on the job, and a compact size of only 13-1/2” which increases user comfort and allows operation in tight spaces.
