The zinc coating is what protects the steel from the elements and corroding over time. Galvanized half round gutters can be installed directly to the fascia board or suspended from the roof deck. With a vast amount of hanger bracket options available, galvanized half round gutters can be installed in an array of applications including flat fascia, slanted fascia, exposed rafter tails, crown molding and many others. Galvanized half round gutters are made from 26 gauge steel and are available in 10 ft. lengths. If you plan on painting your galvanized gutters it is recommended that you allow them to weather to the elements for a year to allow the oils to release from the metal so that they can hold paint.
