This long skinny beet typically grows to about 6-8 inches long and is ideal for uniform slices. With rich, red color and bold flavor, Cylindra makes a great addition to any veggie garden.
Instructions:
Sow seeds outdoors as soon as the soil can be worked in early spring. Seeds will germinate in 5-10 days. Select an area with loose soils and full sun. Harvest anytime after the root reaches 1" in diameter or as desired. Twist off the leaves rather than cutting to prevent "bleeding" which causes less intense color and perhaps less flavor.
