James 4:6 "God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble."  As we study the Bible, it often refers to pride as something God will not tolerate. Proverbs 16:5 "Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD." Pride has many expressions; deep pleasure in one’s achievements, arrogance, envy, high-mindedness, boasting, or anything that takes honor away from God or others for ourselves. God cast Satan out of heaven because of pride and will not allow it to enter His presence. Jesus taught if we do our good deeds, pray, or fast to be seen by others, it is pride, and God has no reward for us. Can we not feel good about the things we do? Yes, but not in pride; God has a way. He will bless us for the good we do. Look for the answer next month.
