This classic leek variety has white stems that grow up to 10" in length and 2" in diameter. A favourite of home and market gardeners, leeks are commonly used in stews and soups, but can also add great flavor to various dishes.
Instructions:
In zone 6 and cooler climates, plant in early spring as soon as you can work the ground. In zone 7 or warmer, plant in the fall. Harvest at desired size, typically best when stems are at least 1" in diameter. When harvested early, leeks can be used as a scallion.
