The 40V Max XGT® Brushless Cordless ½” Hammer Driver-Drill (GPH01D) from Makita is engineered for the most demanding drilling and driving applications across wood, masonry, and metal. Powered by a Makita-built brushless motor, it delivers 1,250 in-lb of max torque, surpassing other driver-drills in heavy-load tasks. The drill operates with two speed settings (0-650 and 0-2,600 RPM) and corresponding BPM for hammer-drilling in concrete, offering up to 35% faster drilling speeds than its 18V LXT predecessor. Key features include an ultra-smooth variable speed trigger, an electronic digital clutch with 41 low-speed and 21 high-speed settings for accurate torque targeting, and Active Feedback-sensing Technology (AFT®) that shuts off the motor if rotation suddenly stops. Built for durability, the GPH01D incorporates Extreme Protection Technology (XPT™) for increased resistance to dust and water, along with a reinforced gear housing and all-metal chuck. This tool is part of the XGT system, which utilizes 40V Max lithium-ion batteries and is designed with advanced brushless motor technology and intelligent digital communication to facilitate a complete transition to a high-power cordless jobsite.

Warning Some dust created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling, and other construction activities contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. Some examples of these chemicals are: lead from lead-based paints, crystalline silica from bricks and cement and other masonry products, and arsenic and chromium from chemically-treated lumber. Your risk from these exposures varies, depending on how often you do this type of work. To reduce your exposure to these chemicals: work in a well ventilated area, and work with approved safety equipment, such as those dust masks that are specially designed to filter out microscopic particles.
