The core of the system is the Outdoor Adventure® 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion 4.0Ah Battery (BL1840), which delivers unmatched run time (35% more than the BL1830) and a category-leading 40-minute charge time. These batteries resist self-discharge and are only compatible with Star Protection tools, which utilize STAR Protection Computer Controls™ to protect against overloading, over-discharging, and overheating. The Makita Rapid Optimum Charger (sold separately) enhances battery life with real-time monitoring, a built-in fan, and other advanced technology for faster, more efficient charging.
