POR-15 Weld-Thru Primer can be applied over cured POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating and all POR-15 topcoats to enable quick refinishing and recoating of these products. This weldable zinc primer also adheres well to steel, aluminum, stainless steel, brass, and other primed and painted surfaces.
- Excellent for use over cured POR-15 rust preventive coating
- Minimizes heat zone during welding
- Provides corrosion resistance to welding surfaces
- Leaves surface strong and protected
- Water resistant after 15 minutes
- Weld-through paint in 30 minutes
- Shake can well before spraying. Spray two light coats of POR-15 Weld-Thru Primer and allow 10 to 15 minutes between coats. POR-15 Weld-Thru Primer can be topcoated in 30 minutes. It is not necessary to sand POR-15 Weld-Thru Primer before topcoating. Dry time: It cures to touch in 30-60 minutes. Second coat can be applied in 10-15 minutes, depending on ambient temperature and humidity
- Surface Preparation: For maximum adhesion sand surfaces to be painted with 320 grit sandpaper. All surfaces must be clean and free of all dirt, loose rust, oil, grease, wax, soap, loose paint and any other matter. Clean painted and bare metal surfaces with POR-15 Cleaner Degreaser. Metal surfaces should be treated with POR-15 Metal Prep for maximum adhesion. Previously Painted Areas: Scuff surface with 320 grit sand paper. Use POR-15 Cleaner Degreaser and POR-15 Metal Prep. Let surface dry thoroughly. Bare Steel or Aluminum: Clean and prep surface then let dry thoroughly
