An heirloom variety featuring a 6-8" round melon of approximately 8 lbs. Its dark thin rind is faintly striped, while its bright red flesh is sweet and of fine texture. Ideal for storing in the refrigerator and is an excellent choice for a sweet snack.
Instructions:
Start seed indoors 2-3 weeks before the last frost or direct seed after danger of frost is past. Prefers full sun and well-draining soil. Soil temperature should be above 70°F. Watch for fungal issues and utilize fungicide when necessary. Water frequently, as consistent moisture will increase fruit set and size. Harvest by cleanly cutting the stem, when the tendril nearest to the fruit completely dries.
