Sweet and tender, this turnip has a white root blushed with pink to purple at the crown. With 4 - 6" mature roots and nutritious young leaves, the easy-to-grow veggie is perfect to use for soups, or for baking alongside other root vegetables.
Instructions:
Direct sow 3 weeks before the last frost in the spring or after the hottest part of summer for a fall crop. Prefers rich, deeply worked soil and full sun. Apply mulch to conserve moisture and control weeds. Harvest greens as desired. Small turnips have the most tenderness and flavor, so pull them when they reach a size of 1 - 3". To store, cut the top down to 1/2" and store in a cool dark place without washing off the dirt.
