This saw is a welcome, high-efficiency solution for cutting and trimming, offering the power equivalent to a gas saw with zero emissions, lower noise, and considerably less maintenance (no oil changes, spark plugs, filters, or fuel draining). It operates on two 18V LXT® batteries for maximum 36V power and run time while remaining on the preferred 18V platform. The efficient Makita Outer Rotor BL™ Brushless Motor with direct drive system delivers high power, while the variable speed motor with a 16” guide bar achieves 0-3,940 FPM for increased cutting speed. Convenience and productivity features include tool-less chain adjustments, a front hand guard that actuates the chain brake, and an electric brake. As part of Makita’s extensive 18V LXT® System, the tool and its fast-charging batteries are protected by Star Protection Computer Controls™, which monitors and guards against overloading, over-discharging, and overheating.
